The Enforcement Directorate (ED), while investigating a money laundering case, has disclosed several revelations about IRS officer Sachin Sawant. According to the ED, Sachin had met Malayalam actress Navya Nayar 15-20 times in Kochi. As per the chargesheet presented in the special court, it is alleged that Sawant had gifted Nayar items worth approximately 1.75 lakhs.
Sachin’s Substantial Wealth
The investigative agency has unveiled that IRS officer Sachin Sawant possesses illicit earnings amounting to 4.11 crore rupees. According to the chargesheet, Sawant had deposited a substantial sum into the bank accounts of his father, brother, and mother. He utilized this money to acquire apartments and some luxury vehicles in Navi Mumbai.
A 10 Million Rupee Apartment Purchase
The ED claims that Sachin bought an apartment in Sanpada, Navi Mumbai, for 10 million rupees, making the payment in cash. The property was registered under the name of Constroywell Private Limited, a company where Sachin’s father served as the director. The apartment’s valuation stands at 13 million rupees. Additionally, Shashi Chavhan, an associate of Sachin Sawant, facilitated payments through companies associated with them.
Driver Reveals Insights
The ED also interviewed Sachin’s driver, Sameer Nalawade, who disclosed that Sawant was engaged in a relationship with South actress Navya Nayar. When the actress relocated to Kochi, Sachin made multiple visits to meet her there. The driver further mentioned that Sachin had gifted him an amount of 1.75 lakh rupees. However, Sachin refuted all of the driver’s claims, asserting that he had gone to Kochi for temple visits and that the actress was only a close friend, nothing more
